Facebook provides a quick and easy way to hide a post you’ve created without actually deleting it – this is convenient for removing it temporarily from your timeline.
But what happens later, when you want to unhide the post and restore it to your timeline? Unfortunately, it’s not obvious how to do that. The good news is it only takes a few clicks or taps, and you can do it from a desktop browser or the Facebook mobile app.
How to unhide a Facebook post on desktop
1. Open Facebook in a web browser.
2. Click your name in the blue bar at the top of the window to show your timeline.
3. In your cover photo, click "Activity Log."
4. On the Activity Log page, click "Hidden From Timeline" in the pane on the left. Wait a moment while the page loads hidden posts - it can take a little while for Facebook to search back in time.
5. When you see the post you want to unhide, click the "no" symbol - the button shaped like a circle with a line through it. In the drop-down menu that appears, click "Allowed on timeline."
How to unhide a Facebook post using the mobile app
1. Start the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android device.
2. Click the menu button (it's shaped like three horizontal lines). It'll be in the lower right on the iPhone or in the upper right on Android.
3. Tap "Settings and Privacy" to expand the menu, and then tap "Settings."Scroll down to the section marked Your Facebook Information, and tap "Activity Log."
4. On the Activity Log page, tap "Category" at the top of the page and scroll to choose "Hidden From Timeline."
